KNOXVILLE, Tenn – The Lindsey Wilson men's outdoor track and field team wrapped up competition at the Tennessee Invite on Saturday at Tom Black Track.


In the field events, Maxwell Wordui continued to impress, breaking the school record and setting an NAIA 'A' standard with a long jump of 7.75 meters, earning first place. His Blue Raider teammate, Jayden Wentz, also competed in the triple jump, finishing 10th with a leap of 14.08 meters. 


In the track events Daniel Otibo placed sixth in the 400-meter setting a NAIA 'B' standard.with a time of 47.64 seconds. Royce Mentor and Miah Chatmond finished 11th and 16th with a time of 48.72 and 49.23. Otibo later ran the 4x100-meter relay and 4x400-meter relay. In the 4x100 he joined Luke Birdsong, TreyCoreus Blanton, and  Cambell Rawlings placing ninth with a time of 41.74. In the 4x400 he joined Chatmond, Enric Fernandez, and Mentor placing fifth with a time of 3:16.32 setting an NAIA 'B' standard. 


In the 110-meter hurdles, Ian Rosario Alicea and Kai Avery represented the Blue Raiders as they finished 16th and 20th with a time of 15.41 and 15.76. Alicea and Avery also competed in the 400-meter hurdles where they finished 18th and 20th with a time of 58.78 and 59.65. Fernandez also competed where he finished seventh with a time of 55.05. 


The Lindsey Wilson men's track and field outdoor team will be back in action when they travel to Williamsburg, Kentucky for the Gordon Bocock Invitational and the South Florida Invitational in Tampa Bay, Florida on Friday April 11.
