COLUMBIA, Ky. – For a second-straight week, Lindsey Wilson student-athlete Davontaye Saunders has been selected as the Mid-South Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

Saunders, of Eminence, Kentucky, earns his third career weekly honor after rushing for 156 yards on 22 carries with one touchdown in the Blue Raiders' 35-27 victory at Reinhardt (Ga.).

The junior averaged 7.1 yards per carry in the win and went over 150 yards for the second straight game. Saunders recorded 129 of his 156 yards in the second half on 15 carries. His touchdown run went for 63 yards to give the Blue Raiders a 35-24 lead with 5:26 remaining. Saunders added four receptions for 53 yards with a long of 18. Lindsey Wilson outscored the Eagles 21-3 in the second half.

This marks the fourth straight week a Blue Raider has earned MSC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Saunders and the Blue Raiders return to action on October 4 to open Mid-South Conference play at Georgetown (Ky.).
