GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team captured both the singles and doubles championships at the 2025 ITA NAIA Southeast Regional at the Lackey Tennis Center.

Mayra Gisone and Martina Cortal defeated Jada and Layla Flakes from Brescia (Ky.) in the second round 6-4. The duo then defeated their teammates, Javiera Verdugo and Hang Nguyen, 8-3 in the quarterfinals. Gisone and Cortal advanced to the finals defeating Cumberlands' (Ky.) Marina Nagai and Haruna Kojima 8-0. In the finals, they defeated Rodriguez and Mateu 8-3.

Verdugo won 6-0, 6-0 over Pikeville's (Ky.) Elizabeth Davis then won 6-1, 6-1 over Maci Vaughn from Indiana Southeast. She advanced to the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Bethe's (Tenn.) Cloe Casado. Verdugo then defeated Gisone 6-2, 6-4 and Nguyen 6-4, 6-1 to advance to the finals. She captured the championship with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) victory over Cortal.
 
Heyka Rodriguez and Mariangeles Mateu defeated Shawnee State's (Ohio) Miranda Johnson and Marissa Justice 6-1. The duo advanced to the semifinals after an injury forfeit from Valentina and Jaunita Mendez from Cumberland (Tenn.). Rodriguez and Mateu defeated Liu YuFang and Victoria Zarate 8-5 in the semifinals.

Verdugo and Nguyen defeated Johnson's (Tenn.) Maria Garcia Ponce and Marina Lasneaux 6-1 before falling in the quarterfinals.

Cortal won in straight sets over Justice 6-0, 6-0. In the next round, she defeated Bethel's (Tenn.) Giada Meneguzzo 6-2, 6-2. Cortal advanced to the quarterfinals with a 3-6, 6-4, 10-5 victory over Kojima. She then defeated Mateu 4-6, 6-3, 10-4 and Blanca Trillo 6-4, 6-3 to advance to the finals.

Gisone defeated Parker White of Milligan (Tenn.) 6-1, 6-0, and Jada Flakes 6-2, 6-1. In the third round, she defeated Pikeville's Natalia Geraldine Salinas Chaparro 6-1, 6-2 before falling to Verdugo.

Nguyen defeated Campbellsville's (Ky.) Ekaterina Amosova 6-1, 6-2. In the second round, she won 6-3, 6-0 over Midway's (Ky.) Alicia Sanglas. Nguyen advanced to the quarterfinals with a 6-4, 6-1 victory against Sofia Canto Hurtado of Bethel. Nguyen defeated Nagai 3,-6, 6-1, 10-7 before falling to Verdugo.

Blanca Trillo won 6-0, 6-0 over Johnson's Francesca Crosa, and Campbellsville's Jimena Palomo 6-1, 6-1. She then defeated Zarate 6-2, 7-5 to advance to the quarterfinals. Blanca Trillo advanced to the semifinals after an injury forfeit.

Mateu won 6-1, 6-0 against Campbellsville's Valentina Curli. In the second round, she defeated Bethel's Claudia Gonzalez Pastrana 6-0, 6-1 and advanced to the quarterfinals with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over YuFang.
