Women’s Basketball Jumps to No. 13 in Latest NAIA Coaches’ Poll

COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Blue Raider women's basketball team makes the biggest jump in the Sixth NAIA Top-25 Coaches' Poll from No. 24 to No. 13, announced league officials on Wednesday. 

Lindsey Wilson is currently sitting at 20-4, and 6-2 in Mid-South Conference play. LWU is on a five-game winning streak including an 84-69 upset over the previously No.4-ranked Tigers of Campbellsville (Ky.) January, 29 and a 79-73 decision against the previously No. 15-ranked Cumberlands (Ky.) on Thursday. 

Dordt (Iowa) is going to hold on to the top spot with 533 points, 15 first-place votes, and a 23-1 record. MSC foes Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) and Bethel (Tenn.) stay at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively with FHU garnering 516 points and four first-place votes to the Wildcats 508 points. Marian (Ind.) moved up to No. 4 with 459 points and bumped Campbellsville down to No. 5 with 448 points.

Cumberlands fell from No. 15 to No. 21 with a 17-8 record and 131 points. Georgetown (Ky.) is in the receiving votes section with 31, alongside Cumberland (Tenn.) with three votes. 

Women's hoops will be back in action on Thursday at 5:30 P.M. to face the No. 2-ranked Lions of Freed-Hardeman inside the Brewer Sports Center.
