COLUMBIA, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson swimming head coach
Alicia Kemnitz has announced the hiring of
Tom Radtke as the program's new assistant coach.
"Coach Radtke brings a plethora of experience with him to our program, specifically in the realm of technique, stroke refinement, and video analysis," expresses Kemnitz.
Radtke arrives at Lindsey Wilson University from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, where he acted as the head coach of the Lake Country Swim Team. His responsibilities included, but were not limited to organizing daily training sessions, managing program operations, and guiding assistant coaches within the program.
At the collegiate level, Radtke spent time as an assistant and volunteer coach at California State University, East Bay from 2011 to 2013, and Whitworth University (Wash.), where he obtained his bachelor's degree in kinesiology.
He helped develop numerous NCAA Division II national competitors while at Cal State before transitioning to the University of Maryland to coach the aquatic club's junior and senior group.
"As an age-group coach for the majority of his 16+ coaching career, I look forward to him starting to recruit the incoming high school class of 2027," says Kemnitz. "He has great connections in the midwest USA Swimming Club scene, and I expect that will provide our team with an increased number of domestic swimmers, which is something we really want."
Radtke officially joined the Blue Raiders prior to the Mid-South Conference Championships, February 5-7, and continues to help the men's and women's teams in preparation for the NAIA National Championships, March 4-7, in Elkhart, Indiana.
"Tom will also be taking over many of our age-group aquatic programs, including the swimming lessons, SKY at Lindsey Wilson USA Team, and our BRAC recreational league," explains Kemnitz. "His secondary title is that of Assistant Aquatics Director, so I know that he will also be an asset to all we do as members of the Campus Recreation team as well. "
