COLUMBIA, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson student-athlete Shayla Bockelman was named to the 2026 Mid-South Conference women's bowling Champions of Character Team, league officials announced Tuesday.

The freshman from Louisville earns Champions of Character distinction for the first time in her career and becomes the seventh different bowler in program history to garner the honor from the conference.

The Mid-South recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes that are honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on campus and in the community while demonstrating the five core character values of the NAIA.

Brescia's (Ky.) Sarah Oeding, Campbellsville's (Ky.) Kaitlyn Szkwarok, Cumberland's (Tenn.) Gracie Connelly, Cumberlands' (Ky.) Paige Frantz, Midway's (Ky.) Maegan Coleman, Pikeville's (Ky.) Taylor Sams, Shawnee State's (Ohio) Onesti Evans, Tennessee Wesleyan's Landry West, and Union Commonwealth's (Ky.) Olivia Brock were each honored with the recognition.

Shayla and her Blue Raider teammates are in Bowling Green this week for the Mid-South Conference Championships.
