COLUMBIA, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson student-athlete Emma Julia Sofia Johansson has been named to the 2026 Mid-South Conference women's swimming Champions of Character Team, league officials announced prior to the conference championship meet.

The sophomore, of Varberg, Sweden, earns Champions of Character distinction for the first time in her career and is the ninth different swimmer in program history to garner the honor from the conference.

The Mid-South recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes that are honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on campus and in the community while demonstrating the five core character values of the NAIA.

Campbellsville's (Ky.) Kenzie Underwood, Cumberlands' (Ky.) Megan Robinson, Indiana Wesleyan's Chloe Rhodenizer, Midway's (Ky.) Jose Briner, and Shawnee State's (Ohio) De'Nicha Lewis was each honored with the recognition.

Emma and her Blue Raider teammates continue preparations for the 2026 NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championships, March 4-7, in Elkhart, Indiana.
