Blue Raiders Open Outdoor Season with School Record and Strong Finishes in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach, S.C. – The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's track and field teams opened the outdoor season Friday at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.

The Blue Raiders recorded several strong performances and top-eight finishes as they carried momentum from the indoor season into the outdoor opener.


On the men's side, Cambell Rawlings led the way in the 100-meter prelims, placing fifth overall with a time of 10.58 to qualify for the finals. The men's relay teams also made an impact, highlighted by the 4x800-meter relay team of Bryce Clayton, Mason Magyar, Landon Franich, and Tyler Colvin, which placed seventh overall with a time of 8:18.02. The 4x200-meter 'B' relay team of TreyCoreus Blanton, Daniel Otibo, Maximus Kilby, and Enric Fernandez added an eighth-place finish with a time of 1:30.39.


On the women's side, Sancia Smith turned in one of the top performances of the day, finishing second in the 400 meters with a time of 1:03.16. Reagan Cheatham added a top-eight finish in the hammer throw, placing eighth with a mark of 46.17 meters.


The women's 4x200-meter relay team of Ta'shya Cramer, Deloris Boateng, Jada McIntyre, and Isabel Urrutia Lemus highlighted the day by setting a new Lindsey Wilson school record with a time of 1:47.79.


Lindsey Wilson showed early-season strength across multiple event groups as the outdoor season gets underway.


Competition at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational continues through the weekend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
