COLUMBIA, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson student-athlete Tara Laverty has been named the Mid-South Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.
 
Laverty, of Dunloy, Ireland, earns her first career weekly honor after earning medalist honors at the Lindsey Wilson Spring Invitational. She finished with a 3-over-par 219 (77-70-72) over the three rounds. Laverty's second round 70 was her lowest round of the season. Laverty finished the tournament -4 on par 4s and carded the second-most birdies in the tournament with 12.
 
She helped lead the Blue Raiders to a first-place finish defeating runner-up Midway (Ky.) by 29 shots.
 
Laverty and the Blue Raiders return to the course on March 30 for the Patriot Invitational in London, Kentucky, at London Country Club.
