COLUMBIA, Ky. - No. 16-ranked Lindsey Wilson softball opens a 10-game homestand on Wednesday, March 25 when the Blue Raiders host Union Commonwealth (Ky.) to a non-conference doubleheader.

The two sides met earlier this season in Barbourville where Lindsey Wilson won back-to-back shutouts, 7-0 and 4-0. Since that series on February 20, the Blue Raiders are 15-2, while the Bulldogs are 4-14.

Union Commonwealth (7-19, 2-8 Appalachian) is 1-9 in true road games this year and batting 0.266 in those contests.

Savanna Higgins, who tallied three hits against the Blue Raiders in February, has 10 hits in her last 10 games. One of those being a three-run RBI-double in Union Commonwealth's 12-7 loss at Columbia International (S.C.) on March 11.

Freshman Maggie Haydu made one start and a relief appearance for the Bulldogs during the earlier series. She pitched 10 2/3 innings, retired four on strikes, issued seven walks, and amassed a 1.31 earned run average.

Lindsey Wilson (20-3, 2-1 Mid-South) was led at the plate by Natalie Wandrie with her four RBIs on three hits, including two home runs. Meanwhile, in the circle, Kayden Murray tossed a complete-game shutout with 13 strikeouts, and Hallie Roberts and Grace Adams combined for another.

Senior Sam Hartman comes into the week on a seven-game hitting streak, in which she boasts a 0.476 batting average with 10 hits, two home runs, a double, and five RBIs.
