COLUMBIA, Ky. - No. 16 Blue Raider softball hosts Georgetown (Ky.) to a Mid-South Conference series this Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29 at Marilyn D. Sparks Park.
The Blue Raiders (22-3, 2-1 MSC) and the Tigers (10-10, 3-3 MSC) are both coming off midweek sweeps of non-conference opponents. On Tuesday, the latter of the two bested Kentucky State 8-1 and 5-3, then on Wednesday, Lindsey Wilson downed Union Commonwealth (Ky.) 8-0 and 9-2.
Georgetown has two conference series under its belt, having taken two out of three from Bethel (Tenn.) before losing two out of three against Campbellsville (Ky.).
Freshman Kylie Miller is 3-0 in four conference appearances for the Tigers. Through 23 innings pitched, she has accumulated a 2.43 earned run average and one complete-game, one-hit shutout over Bethel on March 13. From the plate, Miller is batting a team-high 0.471 in league play, while teammate Delaney Vaughn is up to six RBIs on six hits.
Lindsey Wilson opened its conference schedule last weekend by picking up two wins over No. 15 Cumberlands (Ky.).
Kaiden Rodgers has recorded multiple hits in five consecutive games, hitting 0.611 during that time. Fellow sophomore
Nora Epley's six-RBI performance on Wednesday moved her to the top of the team leaderboard with 16 on the year.
The Blue Raiders, in all, feature eight players with at least 10 RBIs. That is the most of any Mid-South team.
Lindsey Wilson also continues to sport the lowest team earned run average -- 2.09 -- and opponent's batting average -- 0.222.
Last season, the Blue Raiders went to Georgetown and won the first two games against the Tigers before falling in the third. In 2024, Georgetown came to Columbia for a four-game series and won three times.
Saturday will include a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. CT, then Sunday's series finale will start at noon CT. Live coverage of this weekend is provided by the Lindsey Wilson Sports Network.
