COLUMBIA, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson sophomore
Hallie Roberts is the Mid-South Conference softball Pitcher of the Week, league officials announced on Monday.
The Louisville native earns the award for first time this season and third time in her career after firing two complete-game shutouts last week for the 16th-ranked Blue Raiders. She is the second Lindsey Wilson pitcher to collect the honor this year, joining teammate
Kayden Murray.
In her first start of the week against Union Commonwealth (Ky.), Roberts allowed just one hit and two total Bulldog base runners over six innings of work. She recorded each of the first four outs of the game on strikes and finished with six.
On Saturday, Roberts pitched game one of the Blue Raiders' conference series with Georgetown (Ky.), going seven innings, striking out seven, and allowing six hits.
Over her 13 innings dealt last week, Roberts did not give up a single run or walk an opposing batter. Additionally, none of the seven hits she allowed went for extra bases. She capped her stat line with one fielding assist and one putout.
Roberts actively ranks third in the Mid-South for wins and earned run average, while sitting sixth for strikeouts.
Hallie and her Blue Raider teammates host Indiana Southeast at 3 and 5 p.m. CT on Tuesday, March 31.
