Wordui Earns All-American Honors on Day Two of NAIA Indoor Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's track and field teams continued competition Friday at the 61st Annual NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville, Florida.

The Blue Raider men recorded four points on day two and sit in 22nd.
Maxwell Wordui earned All-American honors in the men's long jump. Wordui finished with a jump of 7.42 meters to finish in fifth. In the 60-meter dash preliminaries, the sophomore won his heat and finished third overall with a time of 6.69 seconds to qualify for the finals. while also setting a new Lindsey Wilson school record, surpassing the previous mark set in 2024. 

On the women's side, Promise Amasiatu highlighted the day by advancing to two finals events. The freshman finished second in her heat and sixth overall in the 60-meter dash preliminaries with a time of 7.52 seconds to qualify for Saturday's final. She also won her heat and placed fourth overall in the 200-meter dash preliminaries with a time of 24.29 seconds, setting a new Lindsey Wilson school record and breaking the previous mark that had stood since 2020.

Hannah Reid also advanced to the finals in the 400-meter dash after placing second in her heat and fifth overall in the preliminaries with a time of 54.86 seconds. The performance set a new school record for Reid, breaking her own previous mark of 54.98 seconds that she set in 2025.

Chenessa Davis represented the Blue Raiders in the 60-meter hurdles preliminaries, placing fourth in her heat and 10th overall with a time of 8.76 seconds. In the field events, Elaina Holliday competed in the long jump and placed 21st with a top mark of 5.41 meters.

D'Antonio Warren also advanced to the finals for the Blue Raiders after winning his heat and placing fourth overall in the 200-meter dash preliminaries with a time of 21.58 seconds. Daniel Otibo competed in the 400-meter dash preliminaries and placed fourth in his heat and 17th overall with a time of 48.96 seconds. Cambell Rawlings finished fifth in his heat of the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.85 seconds and later placed fourth in his heat of the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.97 seconds.

Competition at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships concludes Saturday in Gainesville as the Blue Raiders compete in the event finals.
