COLUMBIA, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson student-athlete
Raul Safont has been named to the 2026 Mid-South Conference Men's Tennis Champions of Character Team, officials announced Thursday.
The graduate student from Castelló de la Plana, Spain, earns the honor for the first time in his career and is the seventh player in program history to garner the honor.
The MSC recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on and off campus, as well as their demonstration of the five core character values of the NAIA.
Bethel's (Tenn.) Nomura Guillherme, Campbellsville's (Ky.) Fabricio Mesia, Cumberland's (Tenn.) Arthur Borrasca Fernandes, Cumberlands' (Ky.) Manu Guede, Freed-Hardeman's (Tenn.) Daan van Miltenburg and Georgetown's Tom Dwyer all earned the honor.
Safont and the Blue Raiders open their postseason on Saturday at 3 p.m. CT in the semifinals of the MSC Tournament at the Warren County Tennis Facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
