Lindsey Wilson College Softball Drops Pair at Martin Methodist

PULASKI, Tenn. --Lindsey Wilson College softball dropped a pair of games to Martin Methodist College on Saturday at Pulaski, Tennessee.

Martin Methodist scored runs in each of the first four innings in game one to win five to one.

The Blue Raiders (0-4) scratched out three hits in the game. Senior catcher Amy Rice connected with a double and scored the lone Lindsey Wilson run.

Sophomore Kasey LaDuke was the pitcher of record in the loss pitching six innings. LaDuke surrendered five runs on eight hits and four walks.

Martin Methodist pitcher Dara May pitched all seven innings. She would give up three hits and not allow an earned run.

Redhawk centerfielder Becky Hodges was one for one from the plate scoring twice and driving in two.

In game two, the score remained tied at two through four innings. The Redhawks (10-2) then plated eight runs in the fifth inning to cruise to the five inning shortened contest.

Junior Jill Diesel collected two of the Blue Raiders' five hits in the game.

Freshman pitcher Leigh Ann Moore went four innings of two run ball. Moore would scatter six hits and strike out three.

Lindsey Wilson junior Leigh Oakley picked up the loss in relief giving up eight runs (six earned) on seven hits and two walks in two-thirds of an innings.

May was the winning pitcher for Martin Methodist in game two as well going five innings and allowing no earned runs.

Martin Methodist third baseman Ashley Altman was two for three from the plate with three runs batted in and two runs scored.

Lindsey Wilson returns to the diamond at 2 p.m. CT on Tuesday March 1 for the Blue Raider home opener against Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University.
