Box Score 4 WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson softball team split their four game series with the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) in the Mid-South Conference opener for both teams.
The Patriots won the first game on Friday 3-1. Cumberlands scored all three runs in the second nning which was enough to hold off Lindsey Wilson. Senior

Kim Guy were each 2-3 at the plate for the Blue Raiders. Junior Danielle Clark piked up the loss for Lindsey Wilson allowing three runs (two earned) on 10 hits in 5-2/3 innings of relief.
Cumberlands won Friday's nightcap with a 4-3 tally. Lindsey Wilson jumped out to a 2-0 lead with single runs in the first and second innings. Cumberlands tied the game in the third inning with two runs. Each team scored a run in the fourth inning before the Patriots won the game with a run in the seventh inning.

Leigh Oakley was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Sophomore Leigh Ann Moore was the losing pitcher allowing four runs on six hits.
The first game on Saturday saw Lindsey Wilson take advantage of nine Cumberlands errors and win 6-3. The Blue Raiders connected on six hits and scored only two earned runs. Oakley limited the Patriots to three runs on three hits in seven innings. Senior
Jill Diesel hit 1-for-4 with a home run with two RBIs.
Lindsey Wilson salvaged a split of the four game series with a 5-1 victory in the second game on Saturday. Lindsey Wilson scored the game's first five runs to cruise to the win. Oakley, senior Whitney Frazier and sophomore Lauren Miller each belted out home runs to lead the Blue Raiders attack. Moore did not allow an earned run and scattered five hits in seven innings to earn the win.
Lindsey Wilson is now 10-10 on the season and Cumberlands is 10-12. Both teams are 2-2 in Mid-South Conference action.
