Box Score 2 COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College softball team split a pair of Mid-South Conference games with the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) at the Joe Johnson Complex today.
In game one, Lindsey Wilson (8-9, 1-1 in the Mid-South Conference) lost a close game 6-7, while sophomore
Whitney Mink hit 2-for-4 with two RBI's. Mink added a homerun in the loss, her second of the season.Lindsey Wilson junior pitcher
Leigh Ann Moore (5-3) pitched a complete game, giving up nine hits, three earned-runs and striking out seven Patriots (16-11, 4-2).
Cumberlands' Whitney Piar (6-5) earned the win pitching the complete game with seven hits and four strikeouts.
In game two, Lindsey Wilson senior
Ginny Long blasted a homerun, her first of the season, in the bottom of the seventh to give the Blue Raiders' a 7-6 victory.
Long finished the day with three hits in four at bats, with one RBI and two runs. Junior
Lauren Miller added three RBI's, and two hits including a homerun, her second of the season, in the win.
Lindsey Wilson senior pitcher
Danielle Clark (1-6) pitched six complete innings giving up eight hits and striking out three Patriots in the no decision.
Leigh Ann Moore collected the win in one inning of relief striking out two batters.
University of the Cumberlands pitcher Mindy Breitholle (6-3) picked up the loss after two innings of relief pitching. Breitholle gave up five hits and four runs in the 2.1 innings she pitched.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at Noon on Sunday, March 25, as they travel to Barbourville, Kentucky to play a doubleheader against Union (Ky.) College.
