Box Score 2 COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College softball team swept a pair today over Georgetown (Ky.) College at Joe Johnson Park.
The Blue Raiders beat the Lady Tigers (11-8, 5-5 in the Mid-South Conference) 4-3 in the opener and 3-0 in the finale.
In game one, senior Ginny Long hit a game-winning home run in the sixth inning to help the Blue Raiders (12-11, 5-1) to the 4-3 win.
Senior pitcher Danielle Clark picked up the win allowing three runs on seven hits. Junior Leigh Ann Moore picked of the save hurling a perfect seventh inning.
Sophomore Whitney Mink connected on two hits and junior Shayla Cian added a hit and a RBI in the win.
In the second game, Moore hurled a one-hit shutout to help the Blue Raiders to the 3-0 win.
Long hit her second home run of the day and fourth of the season. She also added two RBIs. Mink added her third home run of the season in the game. She also scored two of the three Lindsey Wilson runs.
Moore picked up her eighth win and her third shutout of the season. She allowed just one Georgetown hit, while striking out five Lady Tigers.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at noon CDT on Sunday, April 1, as the Blue Raiders travel to Georgetown for a doubleheader.
