Box Score 2 COLUMBIA -- The Lindsey Wilson College softball team split a doubleheader with visiting Georgetown (Ky.) College today at Joe Johnson Field.
The Blue Raiders dropped the opener 3-1 before winning the nightcap 4-3.
In game one, Georgetown starting pitcher Samantha Barmore limited the Blue Raiders to one run on five hits in the Lady Tigers' 3-1 win.
Georgetown centerfielder Kara Renfro led the Lady Tigers (13-6, 1-1 in the Mid-South Conference) with two hits -- including a home run -- and a pair of RBIs.
Lindsey Wilson junior catcher Whitney Mink's fourth home run of the season in the sixth inning proved to be the only Blue Raider run.
Senior starting pitcher Leigh Ann Moore suffered the loss allowing three runs on eight hits. Moore also struck out four Georgetown batters.
In the nightcap, senior right fielder Ashley Vice's two-run double helped the Blue Raiders to the 4-3 win.
Lindsey Wilson senior starting pitcher Danielle Clark picked up her fifth win of the season allowing three runs on six hits in 4-2/3 innings of work. Moore earned her first save of the season without allowing a hit in the final 2-1/3 innings of work.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Thursday, March 20, as the Blue Raiders host Indiana University Southeast at Joe Johnson Field. The doubleheader, originally scheduled to be played in New Albany, will be moved to Columbia due to heavy rains in southern Indiana.
