Box Score 2 WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College softball team continued their winning ways on Saturday with a sweep of Mid-South Conference foe University of the Cumberlands (Ky.).
The Blue Raiders improve to 13-6 overall on the season and 3-1 in the MSC with the wins. Cumberlands falls to 8-8 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
Lindsey Wilson senior pitcher Leigh Ann Moore hurled a 3-1 complete game win in Saturday's opener. Moore (6-2) allowed just one run on four hits while striking out five Cumberlands hitters en route to the win.
A quartet of Blue Raiders recorded two hits each as Lindsey Wilson out-hit the host Patriots 11-4.
Lindsey Wilson Shayla Cain contributed two hits and a RBI in the win. Senior Jennifer Gross and sophomore Brittany Dorsey each finished with a 2-for-3 game at the plate.
In the nightcap, Lindsey Wilson pounded out 10 hits and scored 11 times in an 11-2 rout.
The Blue Raiders failed to score in just one of the shortened five-inning game en route to their 12th win in their last 13 games.
Seniors Lauren Miller and Ashley Vice combined to go 3-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored in the win. Gross added another hit and two RBIs to her day.
Senior pitcher Danielle Clark (6-4) picked up the win allowing two runs on three hits in four innings of work. Freshman Jordan Eastham hurled a perfect fifth to end the game.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Tuesday, March 25, as the Blue Raiders return to conference play hosting Pikeville (Ky.) College at Joe Johnson Field.
