Box Score 2 COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College softball team dropped a doubleheader today to visiting Campbellsville (Ky.) University at Joe Johnson Field.
The Lady Tigers improves to 17-10 overall and 8-0 in the Mid-South Conference with the 5-3 and 5-4 wins. Lindsey Wilson falls to 13-10 overall and 3-5 in the MSC with the losses.
In game one, Campbellsville scored three times in the fifth inning en route to the 5-3 win.
Campbellsville's Jordan Blair and Dana Price each hit home runs to lead the Lady Tiger offense. Starting pitcher Allison Horton picked up the win while allowing three runs on five hits in five innings of work. Blair pitched two scoreless innings for the save.
Lindsey Wilson senior pitcher Leigh Ann Moore suffered the hard-luck loss allowing five runs -- one earned due to three Blue Raider errors -- on four hits in the complete game.
Seniors Kelley Wilson and Shayla Cain each contributed two hits in the loss.
In the nightcap, Lindsey Wilson scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh but it wouldn't be enough in a 5-4 loss.
Three more Lindsey Wilson errors aided four unearned Campbellsville runs in the win.
The Lady Tigers scored four times in the fourth off Lindsey Wilson senior starter Danielle Clark. Clark finished with the loss while allowing four runs -- none earned -- on four hits in 3-1/3 innings of work.
Cain and senior Lauren Miller each contributed two hits and two RBIs. Senior Ashley Vice added a pair of hits in the loss.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action 3 p.m. CT on Friday, March 28, as the Blue Raiders host Madonna (Mich.) University at Joe Johnson Field.
