Box Score 2 COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College softball team swept visiting Madonna (Mich.) University today at Joe Johnson Field.
The Blue Raiders won the first game 3-0 and the nightcap 3-1 to improve to 15-10 overall. Madonna falls to 8-6-1 with the two losses.
In game one, freshman starting pitcher Olivia Holland (2-0) hurled her first career complete game shutout to beat Madonna 3-0.
Holland allowed four hits while striking out a pair of Madonna hitters.
Junior Whitney Mink, sophomore Haley Cheuvront and freshman Kelly McCarty all contributed a hit and a RBI in the win.
In the nightcap, senior pitcher Leigh Ann Moore recorded the Blue Raiders second consecutive complete game going the distance in a 3-1 win.
Moore allowed an unearned run on four hits while striking out 12 Crusaders to pick up her seventh win of the season.
Cheuvront and senior Ashley Vice each contributed two hits in the win.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Sunday as the Blue Raiders host Madonna at 9:30 a.m. CT and University of Virginia-Wise at 3:30 p.m. CT at Joe Johnson Field.
