Box Score 2 COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College softball team split with visiting University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) today at Joe Johnson Field.
Cumberlands (18-16, 9-7 in the MSC) won the opener 4-2, while Lindsey Wilson (26-26, 10-8) earned the split with a 4-3 win in the nightcap.
In game one, Cumberlands erased a 1-0 deficit with a four-run fifth inning and held on to the 4-2 win.
Lindsey Wilson senior Lauren Miller led the Blue Raider offense with one of the team's hits and a RBI. Freshman Olivia Holland (4-1) suffered the loss while allowing four runs on five hits in seven innings of work.
In the nightcap, Cumberlands scored three first inning runs before the Blue Raiders overcame the deficit to win 4-3.
Miller once again led the Lindsey Wilson charge with a pair of hits including a solo home run in the win. Sophomore Brittany Dorsey contributed two hits, a run and a RBI.
Holland earned the win in relief holding the Patriots scoreless for 6-1/3 innings. She scattered five hits while striking out three en route to her fourth win of the season.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 4 p.m. CT on Thursday, April 17, as the Blue Raiders travel to Midway (Ky.) College for a doubleheader.
