Box Score 2 GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College softball team won a pair of games today in the loser's bracket to stay alive in the Mid-South Conference Tournament hosted by Georgetown (Ky.) College.
The Blue Raiders (31-17) scored early and often en route to a 7-1 win over University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) in the first elimination game of the day.
Lindsey Wilson senior Ashley Vice homered and drove in three runs to lead the Blue Raider offense. Senior pitcher Leigh Ann Moore limited the Patriots to one run on four hits in five innings of work for the win.
With the win, the Blue Raiders advanced to play Pikeville (Ky.) College -- who sent Lindsey Wilson to the loser's bracket with a 3-0 win on Thursday -- in another elimination game.
The Blue Raiders scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to keep their season alive and end the Bears season.
Trailing 1-0 entering the home half of the last inning, Vice and senior Lauren Miller each contributed RBIs in the come-from-behind win.
Moore (14-6) picked up her second win of the day allowing one run on three hits in six innings of work.
The Blue Raiders advance to the finals of the loser's bracket against Georgetown. First pitch is scheduled for 9 a.m. CT at the Georgetown College Softball Complex.
