Box Score 2 PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College softball team avenged an early season doubleheader sweep to Pikeville (Ky.) College with a pair of wins today.
The Blue Raiders won 8-0 and 6-0 to improve to 19-14 overall and 5-7 in the Mid-South Conference. The Lady Bears fall to 16-20 overall and 5-7 in conference play.
Lindsey Wilson senior pitcher Leigh Ann Moore hurled a complete game shutout in the opener. Moore allowed just three hits while striking out three Pikeville hitters.
Offensively, junior catcher Whitney Mink went 3-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs to lead the Blue Raiders. Senior third baseman Laura Sidebottom added two hits and two RBIs in the win.
In game two, senior pitcher Danielle Clarke and freshman reliever Olivia Holland combined for the shutout win.
Clarke allowed just two hits and one walk in six innings of work. Holland finished with a scoreless seventh inning.
Mink recorded a hit and two RBIs in the win. Sophomore shortstop Brittany Dorsey added two hits, two runs and a RBI.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 4 p.m. CT on Tuesday, April 8, as the Blue Raiders travel to Brescia (Ky.) University in Owensboro, Ky.
