Box Score 2 LEBANON, Tenn. -- Lindsey Wilson College senior catcher Whitney Mink hit her 22nd career home run in game one of a doubleheader to break the program's all-time home run record helping the Blue Raiders split against Cumberland (Tenn.) University today in Lebanon, Tennessee.
In game one, Mink connected on her team-high seventh home run of the season and collected a double to help Lindsey Wilson (22-17) defeat Cumberland 7-1.
Sophomore pitcher Olivia Holland threw a complete game allowing only one run over seven innings of work. Senior outfielder Deanndria Moore collected three hits, scored three runs and stole two bases.
In game two, the Blue Raiders jumped out to a 5-2 lead on freshman designated hitter Lindsey Bridges' two-run home run. However, Cumberland (6-20) responded with a three run fourth and eventually won 7-6.
Sophomore pitcher Emillee Bush received the no-decision throwing four 2/3 innings, allowing six earned runs. Holland (9-11) relieved Bush and was saddled with the loss after allowing the winning run to score in the seventh.
Mink continues to leave her mark on the Blue Raider softball program. She holds school records in runs scored (149), stolen bases (86), doubles (55) and home runs (22). Mink is also second on the all-time list in runs batted in (134) and career batting average (.410). Finally, she is third all-time with 209 hits, seventh all-time in games played (169) and eighth all-time in walks (42).
Lindsey Wilson returns to action for a doubleheader at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 18, as they host the University of the Cumberlands on senior day at Joe Johnson Field.
