Box Score 2 ORANGE BEACH, Ala. -- The Lindsey Wilson College softball team split a pair of games today in the final day of the University of Mobile Classic.
The Blue Raiders (7-4) lost this morning's opener 1-0 to Reinhardt (Ga.) College but bounced back to beat Spring Hill (Ala.) College 6-0 in their final game of the classic.
In Lindsey Wilson's first game of the day, the Blue Raiders managed just four hits against Reinhardt pitchers Kelsey Floyd and Becca Jones in the 1-0 loss.
Freshman Jordan Gilland recorded half of the Blue Raiders hits.
Junior starter Morgan Paschall suffered the loss despite not giving up an earned run in the game. Paschall allowed one run on three hits in 3-2/3 innings pitched.
Junior Anyibell Ramirez did not allow a run in her 2-1/3 innings of relief.
The Reinhardt run came in the bottom of the fourth on Ramirez's wild pitch.
In the Spring Hill win, Lindsey Wilson scored four times in the sixth inning to win 6-0.
Gilliand and junior Kelly McCarty each drove in a pair of runs while Ramirez and junior Ally Goniea each drove in one run for the win.
Paschall and Ramirez combined on the two-hit shutout while striking out a combined 14 Spring Hill batters.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Tuesday, March 9, as the Blue Raiders open up Mid-South Conference play at home against Georgetown (Ky.) College.
