Box Score 2 GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College softball team's 15-game winning streak came to an end on Tuesday after being swept at Georgetown (Ky.) College 8-0 and 2-0.
The Blue Raiders tailed just 1-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning before the Tigers sent across seven runs to take their commanding lead. Neither team would score after that outburst, giving Georgetown the shutout win.
Anyibell Ramirez took the loss, striking out five batters, while also walking four. Brittany Gunther earned the win for Georgetown, giving up just four hits for the game.
The Tigers struck with one run in the first inning and another in the sixth to put together the 2-0 shutout win in game two. Ramirez was issued the loss again, pitching 6.0 innings with just three strikeouts, while giving up two earned runs.
Katie Mann won the game for Georgetown, throwing a complete game in the circle with seven strikeouts, while scattering six hits.
Lindsey Wilson shortstop Jamie Williams tallied the only multi-hit performance on the day, going 2-for-3 at the plate. Left fielder Alexis Rodgers went 1-for-4 in game two and stole a base for the Blue Raiders, giving her two swipes on the day.
The Blue Raiders fell to 29-10 overall and 15-5 in the Mid-South Conference with the losses, while Georgetown improved to 20-16 overall and 11-5 in the MSC.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday, April 10 at St. Catharine (Ky.) College.
