Box Score 2 WISE, Va. -- The Lindsey Wilson College softball team swept a Mid-South Conference doubleheader today at the University of Virginia's College at Wise.
The Blue Raiders improve to 23-4 overall and 4-0 in the MSC with the 6-1 and 7-0 wins. UVa.-Wise falls to 9-16 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
Lindsey Wilson junior Jamie Williams blasted her conference-leading eighth home run of the season to lead the Blue Raider offensive attack in the first game of the afternoon. Williams finished the game 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs and three runs batted in.
Senior Anyibell Ramirez picked up her 14th win of the season while hurling seven scoreless innings on three hits. She struck out 10 Cavaliers.
In the nightcap, sophomore Lauren Seibert hit her sixth homer of the season to lift the No. 19-ranked Blue Raiders to the 7-0 win. Seibert concluded the game 2-for-4 with a pair of runs and four RBIs.
Juniors Amy Harner and Emily Priar and sophomore Alexis Rodgers joined Seibert with two hits in the game as the Blue Raiders out-hit the Cavs 9-2.
Senior Morgan Paschall hurled the complete-game shutout allowing just two hits while striking out 15 batters. Paschall improved to 9-1 on the season with the win.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 26, as the Blue Raiders host University of Rio Grande at Lindsey Wilson Park.
