WEST PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- The Lindsey Wilson College softball team won the battle of division leaders on Sunday with a doubleheader sweep of Shawnee State (Ohio) University at Doc Singleton Park.

The Blue Raiders (35-4, 16-0 in the Mid-South Conference) remained perfect in conference play while extending their winning streak to 14 with 7-0 and 5-4 wins. Shawnee State remains atop the MSC East Division despite the losses. The Bears are 13-13 overall and 7-7 in conference play.

In the first game, junior Mikaila Etheredge hit her second and third home runs of the season to lift the Blue Raiders to a 7-0 win.

Senior Anyibell Ramirez (21-3) recorded her eighth complete game of the season in the win. She allowed just three hits while striking out 11 Shawnee State batters.

Etheredge finished 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs and three RBIs. Senior Ally Goniea and junior Jamie Williams each contributed two hits in the win.

Shawnee State's Ali Thompson suffered the loss allowing seven runs on 12 hits.

In the nightcap, the Blue Raiders built a five-run lead after five innings and held on to the 5-4 win to complete the sweep.

Senior Morgan Paschall (14-1) picked up the win while allowing four runs on six hits over her 5-1/3 innings of work. Ramirez picked up her second save in as many days allowing just a single hit in 1-2/3 innings.

Sophomore Alexis Rodgers led the Lindsey Wilson offense with two hits and a run. Etheredge continued swinging a hot bat with a 1-for-2 game with a RBI.
