Box Score 2 GULF COAST, Ala. -- Lindsey Wilson College softball won twice today to remain perfect at the Gulf Coast Invitational hosted by University of Mobile (Ala.).
The Blue Raiders (21-2) beat Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University 7-0 and Auburn University Montgomery (Ala.) 3-2 to reach Sunday's eight-team Gold Bracket Tournament.
Joining Lindsey Wilson in the Gold Bracket is host Mobile, Auburn-Montgomery, Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College, Shorter (Ga.) University, Campbellsville (Ky.) University, William Carey (Ala.) College and University of Houston-Victoria (Texas).
Today, Lindsey Wilson used a three-run fifth and a four-run seventh to cruise past Freed-Hardeman in the Blue Raiders' first game of the day.
Jamie Williams and Josie Cox each provided two RBIs while Andrea Whelan and Emily Priar had two hits each to lead the Blue Raider offense.
In the circle, Cara Law scatted four hits over her six innings of work to pick up the first of two wins on the day. Law struck out six en route to her ninth win of the season.
Lauren Seibert pitched a scoreless seventh to preserve the shutout.
In the nightcap, Lindsey Wilson scored three times in the second inning to beat No. 13-ranked Auburn-Montgomery 3-2.
Whelan's leadoff double followed by Jane Egiazarova's single were the Blue Raiders only hits in the inning. Lindsey Wilson scored on a bases loaded walk, a bases loaded hit batsman and on a wild pitch to score its three runs.
Egiazarova finished the game 4-for-4 while Whelan added two more hits to her four-hit day.
While the Blue Raiders manufactured runs, Law continued her dominance in the circle. She picked up her second win of the day while allowing two runs on three hits over her four innings of work.
Jordan Hood picked up her first career Lindsey Wilson save hurling three innings of one-hit ball while striking out four.
