Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- After postponing its doubleheader by a day due to forecasted weather, the No. 13-ranked Lindsey Wilson College softball swept a pair of games on Sunday from host University of Rio Grande (Ohio).

The Blue Raiders (30-6, 9-1 in the Mid-South Conference) remained atop the MSC standings with wins of 4-1 and 9-1 over the RedStorm (11-8, 4-4).

Lindsey Wilson's Andrea Whelan homered and drove in three runs to guide the Blue Raider offense in game one's win. Cara Law supplied a complete-game four-hitter in the circle to pick up her 13th win in 15 decisions this season.

Whelan's fourth home run of the year cleared the left field fence to give the Blue Raiders a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Lindsey Wilson added a second run in the inning on Chelsea Collins' sacrifice fly to push the lead to 2-0.

The RedStorm cut the lead in half with a run in the fourth as Katie Fuller doubled home Jaymie Rector.

Lindsey Wilson responded with two runs in the fifth thanks to Whelan's two-out, two RBI single to give the Blue Raiders the 4-1 lead and eventually the win.

Law allowed just the one run while striking out two Rio Grande batters. Rio Grande's Anna Smith (6-5) suffered the loss while allowing four runs -- one earned -- on seven hits while striking out eight.

In the nightcap, Lindsey Wilson scored two in the first inning and three in the fifth and six innings to win 9-1 in six innings.

Emily Priar had three hits and scored three times while Mikaila Etheredge drove in three runs to lead the Blue Raider offense. Jordan Hood -- who added a hit and two RBIs at the plate -- hurled a complete-game while allowing one run and three hits. Hood (12-3) struck out seven in the win.

Etheredge's two-out single in the first inning pushed the Blue Raiders out in front 2-0 after their half of the opening inning.

Rio answered with its only run of the game in the bottom of the first to cut the Blue Raider lead to 2-1.

In the third inning, Jamie Williams blasted her team-leading eighth home run of the season to extend the Blue Raiders lead to 3-1.

Lindsey Wilson added a three-spot in each of the fifth and sixth innings to end the game in six innings thanks to the eight-run mercy rule.

The Blue Raiders return to action at 3 p.m. CT on Tuesday, March 27, as they travel to University of the Cumberlands for a Mid-South doubleheader in Williamsburg, Ky.
