COLUMBIA, Ky. -- On Saturday afternoon, instead of searching for ways to score, the 14th ranked Lindsey Wilson softball team wasn't sure if they would ever get out. Connecting on a combined 29 hits in two games, the Blue Raiders beat Pikeville (Ky.) 6-0 and 17-0 at Blue Raider Stadium.

While the 6-0 win in game one was a good start with Lindsey Wilson looking to bounce back from a sweep at Campbellsville last week, the run-shortened game two featured the big moments, scoring six runs in the second inning, three in the third and eight in the fourth.

Center fielder Travatia Bowden put together a stat line to remember, finishing a perfect 6-for-6 in both games combined. With her six hits she hit a home run, six RBIs, two doubles and scored four runs.

Lindsey Wilson tallied 18 hits in game two, including a bunch from a large group of pinch hitters late in the game. Lindsey Bridges went 2-for-2 off the bench, Jane Egiazarova went 2-for-3, Caren Alexander went 1-for-1, Kaitlyn Cantrell finished 1-for-1, Kristina Krupinski was 1-for-1 and Wendy Vincent had a 2-for-2 showing.

Jordan Hood (14-3) picked up the win in the circle in game one, throwing three innings with a strikeout and allowing just one hit. Lauren Seibert finished the final four innings, allowing just two hits with seven strikeouts.

Cara Law (15-3) earned the decision in game two, going three innings while allowing no hits and striking out three batters.

Pikeville had three players finish with a hit in game one and just two different players reach base in game two. Kayla Morgan, who pitched in the first game and played third in the second, fared the best with two hits on the day.

The Blue Raiders got their scoring done early in the opener, scoring runs in the first three innings to take a 6-0 lead.

Lindsey Wilson matched the run total in the opener in just the second inning of game two, scoring six. The big fourth inning put the game away with the Blue Raiders rallying for eight more runs.

The Blue Raiders are back in action at 4 p.m. CT against Shawnee State (Ohio) in a doubleheader at Blue Raider Stadium inside the Lindsey Wilson Sports Park.
