PULASKI, Tenn. -- The Lindsey Wilson College softball team began its 2013 season in style today with a pair of run-rule wins at the Martin Methodist (Tenn.) Meltdown.

The No. 15-ranked Blue Raiders (2-0) disposed of Taylor (Ind.) 8-0 in five innings in today's first game and ended with a 13-3 five-inning win over Point (Ga.).

Lauren Seibert (1-0) and Cara Law combined for the two-hit shutout of Taylor while striking out seven Trojan batters in the win.

Newcomers Allison Hart and Madison Scott and holdover Andrea Whelan each provided two hits in the win. Hart ended 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

Kristina Krupinski delivered the game's most explosive hit with a pinch-hit home run in the bottom of the fifth to give the Blue Raiders the 8-0 run-rule win.

In the nightcap, eight different Blue Raiders finished with a hit and Cheyanne Knepper kept the Skyhawks grounded in a 13-3 win.

Scott and Jordan Gilland -- who hit her first home run of the season -- ended with three RBIs each while Krupinski drove in two more.

While the offense was clicking, the Blue Raiders also took advantage of five Point errors in the win.

Knepper (1-0) -- who entered the bottom of the fifth with a no-hitter -- surrendered three runs on two hits. She struck out six Point batters en route to her first Lindsey Wilson win of her career.

The Blue Raiders return to action on Saturday with two more games in the Martin Methodist Meltdown. Lindsey Wilson faces Indiana Tech at 2 p.m. CT and Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) at 4 p.m. CT.
