Box Score 2 DECATUR, Ala. -- The No. 15-ranked Lindsey Wilson softball team continued its winning ways on Friday with a pair of wins at the Alabama Arctic Blast.
The Blue Raiders won the first of five games on this trip with a 4-2 win over Tennessee Wesleyan -- who is receiving votes in the national poll. Lindsey Wilson closed with a 7-1 win over Bethel (Tenn.) to run its season record to 7-0 -- the best start in the program's history.
Cara Law scattered four hits and Jordan Hood struck out all six batters she faced in the win over Tennessee Wesleyan (2-4).
Ali Hart and Kristina Krupinski each finished the game 3-for-3 at the plate. Krupinski drove in two runs, including a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Lauren Payne added two hits and a RBI.
Law (1-0) allowed two runs -- one earned -- while giving up four hits for her first win of the season. She struck out six Tennessee Wesleyan hitters in her five-plus innings of work.
Hood simply was dominant striking out the side in the sixth -- after inheriting a base runner in scoring position -- and seventh innings. She picked up her first save of the season hurling two scoreless innings.
In the nightcap, Krupinski and Hart were at it again in a 7-1 win over Bethel.
Krupinski hit her team-leading fourth home run of the season while picking up the win in the circle in relief. Hart had two more hits, two runs and two RBIs in the win.
Andrea Whelan led the Blue Raiders with three hits while Madison Scott provided a hit and two RBIs.
In the circle, Krupinski (1-0) allowed just one hit in 3-2/3 scoreless innings for her first win of the season. Cheyanne Knepper allowed the only Bethel run while scattering four hits in 3-1/3 innings. She fanned four while walking four.
With the win, Lindsey Wilson betters the 6-0 start in 2011.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Saturday with three games on the final day of the Alabama Arctic Blast. The Blue Raiders face Point (Ga.) at 10 a.m. CT, No. 13 Reinhardt (Ga.) at Noon CT and Thomas (Ga.) at 4 p.m. CT.
