ST. CATHARINE, Ky. – Jane Egiazarova finished with two home runs and six hits to lead the 13th-ranked Lindsey Wilson softball team past St. Catharine (Ky.) in a doubleheader sweep 10-2 in six innings and 13-0 in five on Friday.

Egiazarova went 4 for 4 in the opener and 3 for 4 in game two to finish with four RBIs, three runs and a double as well. Ali Hart, Lauren Payne and Andrea Whelan also hit home runs for the Blue Raiders.

Jordan Hood (8-1) picked up the win in game one after scattering six hits for two runs and 11 strikeouts in six innings, while Cheyanne Knepper (8-0) won game two allowing just a hit with four strikeouts in four innings.

Lindsey Wilson scored a pair of runs in the first inning as Whelan singled and came home in the next at-bat when Hart cleared the bases with a home run.

Shortstop Hannah Goldey led off the bottom half of the inning with a homer for the Patriots, but they wouldn't score again until another run in the fifth. By that time the Blue Raiders had added two runs in the third on Egiazarova's homer and another in the fifth as Payne came home after a leadoff single.

Leading 5-2 in the sixth inning, Lindsey Wilson put the game away early with six runs.

Payne did the bulk of the damage with a three-run home run to score Hood who reached on a dropped third strike and Travatia Bowden who singled to the circle.

Lindsey Wilson outhit the Patriots 29-7 on the day, including a 13-1 advantage in game two.

While St. Catharine failed to push a run across in the game, the Blue Raiders took advantage, scoring runs in each of the five innings. The biggest outburst came in the fourth inning when Lindsey Wilson scored five runs on just three hits.

The Blue Raiders return to action on Tuesday at 4 p.m. CT against Cumberland (Tenn.) at Lindsey Wilson Park.
