Lindsey Wilson 1, Belhaven 0
It was a game of missed chances for both the Blue Raiders and Blazers as they each finished with nine hits, but combined to strand 18 runners on base.
Luckily for Lindsey Wilson, it had Scott step up to the plate in the third inning and rip a double to left center field to score Krupinski for the game's only run. Krupinski had singled to right field and moved up on a passed ball to set up the winning opportunity.
Krupinski (2-0) picked up the win in the circle as well, scattering eight hits, but getting the defensive plays to not allow a run. She walked just one batter and struck out four, while Jordan Hood completed the final two innings with a strikeout to pick up her second save.
Katy Adair (3-1) pitched all six innings for Belhaven, striking out just two with the one earned run as Belhaven (7-1) dropped its first game of the season.
The Blazers had a chance to tie it up in the seventh with a runner on third and two outs, but catcher Denee' Crawford flied out to left field to end it.
Lindsey Wilson had a trio of run-saving catches earlier in the game as Krupinski snagged a line out to the circle, catcher Jane Egiazarova made an athletic catch on a foul ball and first baseman Andrea Whelan slid for a pop out down the first-base line.
Lindsey Wilson 9, Columbia 1 (6 Innings)
Against Columbia the Blue Raiders came up with the same amount of hits as game one, but found a way to score eight more runs for the 9-1 win. Payne and Whelan led the way with two runs each, while Whelan drove in three runs as well.
The bulk of the runs came across the plate in the second inning as Lindsey Wilson went up 6-0 on four hits. Whelan drove in a pair on just a single and two more scored on two throwing errors.
Down 8-0 in the top of the fifth inning, Columbia extended the game with a single from second baseman Whitney Howell, but the Blue Raiders scored the winning run in the sixth inning on another double from Whelan to go up by eight.
Cheyanne Knepper (4-0) earned the win in the circle, allowing two hits with four strikeouts in four innings of work. Lauren Seibert finished out the game, striking out two and allowing one run.
Amber Boehme (0-1) took the loss, scattering nine hits and walking four while giving up four earned runs.
