Box Score 2 COLUMBIA, Ky. – Ali Hart, Kristina Krupinski, Madison Scott and Andrea Whelan all hit home runs as the 12th-ranked Lindsey Wilson softball team won easily against Rio Grande (Ohio) 8-0 in six innings and 17-3 in five innings in a Sunday doubleheader at Lindsey Wilson Park.
The Blue Raiders (31-5, 15-3 MSC) scored eight runs on 11 hits in game one as Cara Law (6-2) threw all six innings for the four-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts.
Game two was a blowout early as Lindsey Wilson scored nine runs in the first inning and seven in the second. Cheyanne Knepper (9-0) picked up the win, allowing two runs on three hits in three innings with five strikeouts.
Left fielder Antoinette Jenkins went 4-for-4 in the opener with two RBIs and a stolen base, while third baseman Lauren Payne and designated player Travatia Bowden added two hits each.
Game two's offensive slugfest saw first baseman Kristina Krupinski's bat come back to life with a 3-for-3 showing, including a double and the home run for four RBIs. Whelan, designated hitter Jordan Hood, catcher Jane Egiazarova and second baseman Brittany Graves all went 2-for-2 in the lopsided win.
The RedStorm (15-12, 4-10 MSC) held the Blue Raiders scoreless for two innings in game one until the bottom of the third when Scott hit a three-run shot over the fence in left field.
Payne singled up the middle and later scored in the fourth inning and Hart added her solo home run in the fifth to end the scoring.
Rio Grande led briefly in game one after a first inning score, but the game quickly turned to Lindsey Wilson's favor as it scored nine runs on seven hits in the first frame.
The RedStorm went on to score a single run in the third and fifth innings, but it didn't matter after Lindsey Wilson added seven more runs on four hits in the second.
