Box Score 2 PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- Jordan Hood pitched a no-hitter in game two and Casey Bryan allowed one run on four hits in game one as Lindsey Wilson softball swept its doubleheader against Mid-South Conference foe University of Pikeville (Ky.) 13-1 and 9-0 on Friday at Paul Butcher Field.
In game one, Lindsey Wilson (16-2, 2-0 MSC) gave Bryan a 10 run lead as the bats got going in the second inning. The Blue Raiders got the scoring started with a Savannah Madison single that scored Abbi Goedde to make it 1-0. Andrea Whelan made it 2-0 on an RBI single followed by a bases loaded walk to Madison Scott that made it 3-0. A misplayed foul ball allowed Kristina Krupinski to extend her at-bat and score Ashley Evans on a ground out to second base to make it 4-0.
With runners on second and third, Amanda Trampe hit a three-run shot over the right-field fence to give Lindsey Wilson a 7-0 lead. Travatia Bowden made it 8-0 on an RBI single and the following hitter walked to load the bases. Miranda Owens took over from Lauren Barnes with the bases loaded. A Pikeville missed catch allowed Goedde to score and give the Blue Raiders a 9-0 lead. Whelan recorded her second RBI of the inning on a single to score Bowden to give Lindsey Wilson a 10-0 lead.
Bryan took over in the circle as she cruised through the next three innings striking out four while allowing one run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Bowden finished the game 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored. Evans went 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored.
Lindsey Wilson added three runs in the fourth to give the Blue Raiders the 13-0 win in five innings. The win gave Bryan her seventh win of the season as she is now 7-0 in her eight starts.
In game two, the Blue Raiders gave Hood a 3-0 lead in the first inning on Trampe's second three-run home run of the day. Hood took control of the game from there as she set the tone in the bottom of the first by striking out the side. Hood allowed one walk, her only baserunner, in the third inning.
Lindsey Wilson added six runs in the fourth inning, all off home runs. Trampe hit her third of the day to make it 4-0 followed by a solo shot by Goedde to give the Blue Raiders a 5-0 lead. Hood helped her cause with a two-run home run to increase the lead to 7-0. Evans followed up with a walk and Whelan knocked her home with a two-run home run to make it 9-0.
Hood was stellar in the circle today, allowing no hits and no runs while facing 16 batters in five innings. Hood struck out a career-high 12 of the 16 batters she faced as she recorded her fifth win on the year.
Whelan finished the day 4-for-6 with a home run, four runs batted in, a walk and four runs scored. Trampe went 4-for-5 with three home runs, seven runs batted in and three runs scored.
