Box Score 2 GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The sixth-ranked Lindsey Wilson softball concluded its regular-season schedule with a pair of victories against Georgetown (Ky.) on Tuesday afternoon at Tiger Stadium.
With their two wins over the host Tigers (14-16, 11-13 Mid-South Conference), the Blue Raiders (41-6, 25-3 MSC) extend their program-record winning streak to 25-consecutive games.
To open the twin bill, Lindsey Wilson claimed an 8-0 victory in five innings over Georgetown.
The Blue Raiders scored five times in the third to assume a 5-0 edge. The run-scoring hits came courtesy of a two-RBI single by Amanda Trampe and later Abbi Goedde's first-pitch, three-run home run.
Lindsey Wilson added three more runs in the fourth to account for the final score. Chelsea Showers drove in a run with a bases-loaded walk, Andrea Whelan plated another with an RBI single and Bailey Mize had a sacrifice fly.
Casey Bryan (17-2) tossed a one-hit shutout for the Blue Raiders. After Chaselyn Allgeier's bunt single to lead off the game, Bryan surrendered no more base hits. She walked one and struck out six.
Georgetown game one starter Kayla Williams (6-6) took the loss after allowing five runs – none earned – in three innings.
During the nightcap, Lindsey Wilson held a 3-2 lead after five complete innings, but burst through for seven runs in its final two times at bat to win, 10-2.
In a six-run sixth, Showers hit a two-run homer on a full-count pitch, and Goedde later had another three-run home run.
Lyndsey Parden (12-2) was the winning pitcher with a complete-game effort for the Blue Raiders. She pitched seven innings and gave up seven hits and two earned runs. She walked one and struck out nine.
Tiger starter Sydney Goyette (7-5) took the loss after 5-1/3 innings pitched. She surrendered seven hits and eight earned runs. She walked three and struck out a pair.
Lindsey Wilson will play next in the MSC Tournament in Bowling Green, Kentucky next week.
