Box Score 2 GULF SHORES, Ala. -- Lindsey Wilson softball won a pair of games today at the Gulf Coast Invitational.
The No. 2-ranked Blue Raiders (9-3) beat Blue Mountain (Miss.) 5-0 and followed with an 8-0, 5-inning win over Morningside (Iowa).
A pair of outstanding pitching performances along with 11 hits in each game propelled the Blue Raiders to the 2-0 start in Pool 5 with two more games on Saturday.
GAME 1
A trio of Blue Raiders had two hits each while Lyndsey Parden struck out 10 in Lindsey Wilson's 5-0 win over Blue Mountain.
Sydney Fourman drove in three runs -- including two in a three-run third inning -- while Jenna Firestein, Callum Pilgrim and Bailey Mize all had two hits in the win. Pilgrim and Mize drove home the other two Lindsey Wilson runs in the game.
Parden pitched six scoreless inning, allowing four hits and two walks en route to her team-leading fifth win of the season. Emily Gray pitched a 1-2-3 seventh inning to secure the Blue Raider win.
GAME 2
Eight different Blue Raiders recorded a hit and Casey Bryan pitched a 5-inning complete game shutout in Lindsey Wilson's 8-0 win over Morningside.
Bryan surrendered just one hit to improve to 4-1 on the season.
Bryan benefitted from a potent Lindsey Wilson offense, led by Amanda McIver's 3-for-3 game with a run and two RBIs.
Fourman added two hits and two RBIs while Firestein, Pilgrim, Mize, Cassie Kooker, Amber Miller and Brittney Graves all had one hit.
The Blue Raiders run their winning streak to seven straight.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Saturday with two games against ranked opponents. The Blue Raiders face No. 16-ranked Southeastern (Fla.) at 9 a.m. CT and fourth-ranked LSU-Alexandria at 1 p.m. CT.
