BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The top-seeded Lindsey Wilson softball team fell to Cumberlands (Ky.) 4-0 on Saturday in the winner's bracket final at the Mid-South Conference Softball Tournament at Michael O. Buchanon Park.

The No.1-seeded Blue Raiders (38-10) now face No. 3-seeded Georgetown (Ky.) in an elimination game on Sunday scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. CT.

Elisa Mauldin began the third inning for Cumberlands (18-32) with a single and then advanced to second on a stolen base. Kaylee James drove in Mauldin with a single to give the Patriots a 1-0 lead.

After back-to-back one-out singles by Amy Rogers and Bailey Mize put runners on first and second, a fielder's choice and a flyout ended the Blue Raider scoring threat. Lindsey Wilson would again leave runners on first and second in the fifth inning. After Callum Pilgrim singled to left field and Sydney Fourman was hit by a pitch, a groundout and a popout ended the Lindsey Wilson scoring chance

Cumberlands added three runs in the sixth and seventh innings. Ciara England and Hannah Stephenson each drove in a run in the sixth inning to make it 3-0. Katie Baldock singled in a run in the seventh to make it 4-0.

The Blue Raiders tried to mount a rally in the bottom of the seventh inning but fell short leaving the bases loaded. Cassie Kooker got it started with a leadoff single and advanced to second on a Pilgrim groundout. Amber Foukes was walked and Samantha Luckett singled to center to load the bases with two outs. The seventh inning rally came to an end when a lineout stranded the bases loaded. Lindsey Wilson left 12 runners on base in the game.

Casey Bryan (22-5) picked up the loss giving up four runs on 10 hits. Kooker and Amy Rogers each recorded two hits in the game.

Lindsey Wilson is back in action on Sunday against Georgetown in an elimination game beginning at 11 a.m. CT at Michael O. Buchanon Park with the winner facing Cumberlands in the MSC Tournament Final scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. CT.
