COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 11-ranked Lindsey Wilson softball team travels to Dayton, Tennessee when they take on Bryan (Tenn.) in a doubleheader on Wednesday at the BC Softball Field at 2 p.m. CT.
The Blue Raiders (17-4) swept a doubleheader against Hiwassee (Tenn.) on Friday. Lindsey Wilosn took game one 9-0 in five innings and picked up an 8-1 victory in the second game. Lindsey Wilson hit six home runs in the doubleheader. Samantha Luckett, Callum Pilgrim and Sydney Fourman each hit a home run in the first game. Kalli Harris recorded three hits while Alaeni Ray and Kelsie Cornelius each had two. Abby Whelan pitched all five innings allowing four hits with a strikeout. In game two, Harris hit two home runs while Fourman added one. Ray, Harris and Fourman all had two hits while Ray and Harris each recorded three RBIs. Breanna Clark earned the victory pitching a complete game allowing one earned run with five hits while striking out three.
Bryan (8-20) dropped a doubleheader to Cumberland (Tenn.) on Tuesday. The Lions fell 11-5 in game one and dropped game two 8-6. Hannah O'Shields led the way for Bryan in game one with two hits while Courtney Petty drove in a pair of runs. In game two, Petty had three hits and Kimberly McKernie recorded two RBIs. O'Shields leads the team in batting average (.354), home runs (3) and RBIs with 23. Olivia Johnson leads the team in wins (4), earned run average (3.85) and strikeouts with 31.
Today's matchup is the 10th meeting between the two teams. Lindsey Wilson is 9-0 all-time against Bryan. The two teams last met on Feb. 20 where the Blue Raiders picked up a doubleheader sweep over the Lions. Lindsey Wilson took game one 8-0 and closed out the doubleheader with a 7-2 victory.
