Archery finishes third at Mid-South Conference Indoor Championship

MADISONVILLE, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson archery posted a third-place finish at the Mid-South Conference Indoor Championship on Sunday.

Lindsey Wilson finished Sunday with three gold medals, a championship-best six silver medals, and four bronze. The Blue Raiders added four more fourth-place finishes.

Lindsey Wilson closed the day with 122 total points based on its medal counts. Pikeville captured the team title on Sunday with 142 points and Cumberlands finished second with 126 points.

With the third-place finish, the Blue Raiders are third overall in season-long standings that count the 3D, Indoor and Outdoor championships. Lindsey Wilson has 14 total points. Cumberlands (Ky.) leads the way with 18 points and Pikeville (Ky.) is second with 16 points.

Taylor Bell captured the lone individual gold medal for the Blue Raiders while the Lindsey Wilson women's recurve team and the men's compound team also picked up golds.

Bell defeated Union's (Ky.) Morgan Vaughn 149-147 in the championship match of the men's bowhunter. He posted four rounds of 30, including taking a 30-27 lead following the opening three arrows.

Dalton Richardson, Austin Taylor, and Ethan Johnson never trailed in the finals defeating Pikevile's Aaron Adams, Jase Boils, and Clay Weaver 236-230 for the gold.

Madison Loveless, Savannah Gould, and Casie Metcalf picked up their gold with a 6-0 win over Pikeville in the finals. The Blue Raider trio dominated all three ends -- 50-47, 50-42, and 50-43.

Metcalf and T. Sanchez each picked up individual silvers -- both losing to the tournament's top seed.

Four Lindsey Wilson teams earned silver medals.

Bell and Courtney Blevens fell in the mixed bowhunter finals to Pikeville 156-155 for second place. Metcalf and Sanchez fell to Pikeville's mixed recurve team 6-2 in the finals.

Both Lindsey Wilson men and women's bowhunter teams earned second place.

Bell, Dylan Hamilton, and Evan Mahanna fell in a shoot-off following a tie at 234-234 in the men's bowhunter finals. Blevens, Savy Scott, and Caitlin Beard dropped a 232-225 final to Cumberlands in the women's bowhunter.

Johnson, Gould, and the women's team compound all earned bronze medals on Sunday.
