This time around, the Blue Raiders play host to No. 11 Indiana University Southeast out of the River State Conference. The first pitch is scheduled for Wednesday, March 3 at 4 p.m. CT.
The Grenadiers (5-10) opened their season with a three-game sweep of Pikeville (Ky.). However, since then they are 2-10, including losers of each of their previous six.
Brody Tanksely sports the highest batting average on the squad at 0.417. His 20 hits, five home runs, and 37 total bases are all team-highs. He is the only Grenadier to have an on-base percentage greater than 0.500 (0.508).
Indiana University Southeast has worked through 14 different pitchers so far this season.
Drew Hensley has picked up a team-best two wins and 14 strikeouts on the mound, while Jared Jones has fired a team-high 16.0 innings of action en route to 14 total strikeouts.
Lindsey Wilson (4-5, 1-2 MSC) enters Wednesday after opening conference play last weekend at Georgetown.
Derek Zavala is doing a little bit of everything for the Blue Raiders. He turns in a team-best 0.421 batting average, and once he is one the bags, he is stealing a conference-high 1.1 bases per game. The senior is also tied for first in the Mid-South in hits per game (1.8).
On the mound, Brady Cappe has retired 20 batters on strikes over 19.1 innings pitched, which are both top marks on the Blue Raiders' rotation.
Fellow ace, Bradley Hines boasts a 2.84 earned-run average over his 12.2 total innings of work.
The Blue Raiders have lost 13 of their last 14 against the Grenadiers. The last win in the series for Lindsey Wilson came back on May 19, 2016, in NAIA Opening Round.
