COLUMBIA, Ky. - Postseason play has finally arrived for the Lindsey Wilson baseball team, who will have a chance to compete in the 2021 Mid-South Conference Tournament Opening Round.

The No. 4-seeded Blue Raiders will take on No. 9-seeded Shawnee State (Ohio) in a best two-out-of-three series for a chance to advance to the six-team double-elimination tournament at Bowling Green Ballpark in Bowling Green, Kentucky beginning on Thursday, May 6.

Since Lindsey Wilson earned the higher seed, action is slated to take place at Egnew Park. Play will begin today with a doubleheader starting at noon CT. If each team wins a game today, the final game to determine a winner of the series will take place on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. CT.

Both of these programs met in a three-game series back on March 11 and 12, which saw Lindsey Wilson win two of three over the Bears.

However, the team carries consistent pitching by holding the third-best mark in the conference of 7.8 batters struck out per game. On offense, Jacob Kline is a player to watch, as he leads the MSC in runs batted in per game (1.4). Kline has also accumulated at least one hit in nine of his last 10 games played.

As for Lindsey Wilson (20-20), the Blue Raiders finished the regular season off well by claiming three straight victories.
