GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- No. 23-ranked Lindsey Wilson softball swept a doubleheader today over Georgetown (Ky.) at the Tiger Softball Complex.

The two wins -- 11-7 in the opener and 10-2 in five innings in game two -- complete a four-game sweep this weekend running the Blue Raiders' record to 12-4 this season, including 5-1 in Mid-South Conference play.

The Lindsey Wilson offense tallied 21 runs and 25 hits today en route to running its winning streak to a season-high five straight.

GAME 1

Lindsey Wilson scored six times in the top of the first inning and never trailed on its way to an 11-7 win.

Zakiya Sizemore had two hits and four runs batted in while Desiree Chang added a team-high three hits and a pair of RBIs to lead the offense. Emily Boin picked up her fourth win of the season, going five innings in relief. She allowed two runs on four hits while striking out three Georgetown batters.

Chang doubled home two runs and Sizemore chased home three with a bases-loaded double to put the Blue Raiders on top after a half-inning 6-0.

Georgetown scored three runs in the first and two more in the second to keep the Tigers close.

The Blue Raiders put up another crooked number in the fourth inning, scoring three times to extend the lead to 10-5. Alexis Garayzar and Brianna Griffiths each had RBI hits in the inning to give the Blue Raiders some cushion.

Georgetown once again battled back in the home half of the fourth with a pair of runs to cut the deficit to 10-7.

But that was all Boin surrendered to the Tigers, hurling three scoreless innings to close out the game.

Sizemore provided an insurance run in the top of the sixth with an RBI single to extend the lead to 11-7.

Lindsey Wilson finished the game with 14 hits -- compared to Georgetown's eight. It marked the eighth time this season the Blue Raiders posted double-digit hits.

GAME 2

Just like today's first game, Lindsey Wilson used a six-run inning to jump-start the game en route to a 10-2 win in five innings.

The Blue Raiders scored six times in the top of the second to surge into the lead added a three-run fifth inning to secure the shortened-game win.

Olivia Franceshi improved to 2-0 on the season with the complete-game win. She allowed two runs on eight hits over the five innings.

Six different Blue Raiders drove home a run in the second inning as 11 batters hit in the inning.

Leading 7-1 heading to the top of the fifth, Sizemore and Mikayla Marquez each reached base and Makea-Al Kaluau blasted her team-leading fourth home run of the season to extend the lead to 10-1. Kaluau hit two homers this weekend and has four in her last seven games.

Kaluau finished the game with three hits while Sam Sims added two hits to lead the Blue Raider bats.

Georgetown managed one run in the bottom of the fifth inning, but Franceshi forced a fly-out to end the game securing the eight-run win.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 3 p.m. CT on Friday, March 11, as the Blue Raiders host No. 10-ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) in a doubleheader at Marilyn D. Sparks Park.
