Sixteen Top Five Finishes Lead Men's Track & Field To Brescia Bearcat Twilight Invitational Win

OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's track and field team won the Brescia Bearcat Twilight Invitational hosted by Brescia University on Friday after landing atop the table with 155 total points.

In the track events, Edwin Van Wyk got things started when he finished fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of eleven point four seconds for five points while Brenden Parham placed eighth for a point with a time of 11.19. Van Wyk continued things in the 200-meter dash as he picked up the first win on the day with a time of 22.51 for all ten points. Kadon Wilson placed fifth in the event for four points at 23.64 while Kaleb Hodges was just behind him in sixth for three points at 23.65.

Parham continued things in the 400-meter run with a third-place finish as he produced a time of 51.41 for six points while K'ron Sherald placed fourth with a time of 51.47 for five points.

Nolan Foushee earned the Blue Raiders their second win on the afternoon after he took the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.58 for all 10 points while Stearns placed runner up at 2:00.25 for eight points and Victor Clark followed in fourth at 2:02.74 for five points.

All three runners continued their day in the 1,500-meter run as Foushee earned a second-place finish for eight points with a time of 4:09.24 while Stearns placed third for six points with a time of 4:09.46 and Clark placed eighth for a point with a time of 4:13.88.

Nick Cummins earned a win in the 10,000-meter run after placing a time of 36:17.30 for all 10 points.

Jelle Golbach placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.23 for five points while in the 400-meter hurdles David Johns (56.93), Darius Willis (1:00.27), and Jabari Springs (1:05.10) placed second, fifth and eighth respectively earning a total of 13 points.

Jordan Tucker earned the final win of the day for the Blue Raiders after he took the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:59.17 for all 10 points while Marcus Abel placed eighth with a time of 11:04.40 for a point.

In the field events, Justin Borden got things started with a third-place finish in the high jump with a jump of 1.88 meters for six points while Golbach produced the same jump for a fourth-place finish and five points. Borden went on to also finish third in the long jump with a leap of 6.62 meters for six points while Parham placed seventh with a leap of 6.34 meters for two points.

Austin Campbell placed second in the shot put competition after throwing for 15.18 meters earning eight points while Dominic Schroeder placed fifth with a throw of 12.97 meters for four points and Brandon Fields placed eighth with a throw of 11.58 meters for four points.

All three field athletes went on to compete in the discus competition with Campbell earning second once again after throwing 43.41 meters for eight points, Fields in fourth at 41.50 meters for five points, and Schroeder at 36.34 for three points.

The Blue Raiders have now concluded their regular season and will compete in the Mid-South Conference Championships on May 1-2 in Williamsburg, Ky.
