Men's Track & Field Secures Second Place at MSC Championships

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's outdoor track & field team finished in second place at the Mid-South Conference Championships. The Blue Raiders rounded up 143 team points to finish as runners-up in the conference championship.

The Blue Raiders top scores on day two of the competition came in two different events as Justin Borden won the high jump with a leap of 2.00 meters for first-team all-conference honors and 10 points while David Johns captured the decathlon with 4,607 total points for first-team all-conference honors.

In the remaining field events, Jelle Golbach secured fourth place in the high jump with a jump of 1.95 meters for five points. Austin Campbell secured second-team all-conference honors in the shot-put competition after his throw of 15.42 meters saw him win eight points for his team and secure a national "B" standard in the event. Dominic Schroeder placed fourth in the event with a throw of 14.04 meters for five points.

Campbell went on to secure his second conference honors of the afternoon after placing third in the discus throw with a mark of 45.43 meters for six points while Schroeder finished just behind Campbell in fourth with a throw of 43.36 meters for five points.

In other events around the track today, Jace Cowman got things started with a seventh-place finish in the 5,000-meter race walk with a time of 30:23.56 earning two points. Victor Clark placed fifth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:03.71 for four points while Edwin Van Wyk took fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.94 for five points.

Jaylun Wallace earned a national "B" standard in the 400-meter dash after he placed a time of 48.10 for a fourth-place finish and five points while Brenden Parham placed eighth earning a point. Wallace also went on to finish sixth in the 200-meter dash placing a time of 21.82 for three points.

Nolan Foushee got on the podium after earning third-team all-conference honors in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.01 for six points while Darius Willis won second-team all-conference honors and earned a national "B" standard in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.54 earning eight points while Johns placed eighth with a time of 1:03.97 for a point.

In the relays, a team of Parham, Van Wyk, Kadon Wilson, and Willis earned a fourth-place finish in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 42.17 earning five points while in the final event of the afternoon, a team of Parham, Foushee, Wallace, and K'ron Sherald finished second in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:16.08 for eight points.

The Blue Raiders secured nine total medals in the championship with Campbell and Foushee leading the team with two each. The team now awaits their placement in the NAIA Track & Field National Championships taking place May 25-27 in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
