TWO BLUE RAIDERS COLLECT WINS AT TOM HATHAWAY CHALLENGE

 

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Over the weekend, the Lindsey Wilson men's and women's track and field teams competed in the Tom Hathaway Distance Carnival at the University of Indianapolis' Athletics and Recreation Center.

 

Women's Highlights

- Senior Meredith Johnson secured the Blue Raiders' lone victory in the 800-meter dash, finishing with a season-high time of 2:23.14.

- In the 200-meter sprint, Jozlen Brisbon placed third among Mid-South Conference runners and fourth overall at 25.93.

- The local's quad of Myrthe JansenKaylee MasdenAlexis Hale, and Johnson collected a sixth-place effort of 4:30.87 in the 4x400-meter relay.

Luna Senica paced Lindsey Wilson in the field events, turning the ninth-highest jump of 1.40 meters in the high jump.

 

Men's Highlights

- The Blue Raiders placed three harriers inside the top five of the 200-meter dash, led by Edwin Van Wyk's top time of 22.47. Kelvion Wilson (3rd, 23.10) and Luke Birdsong (5th, 23.27) fell in close behind.

- Lindsey Wilson dominated the 4x400-meter relay. The "A" squad of David Requejo, Darius Willis, Jelle Golbach, and Van Wyk placed second behind a time of 3:31.14, and the "C" team of Marcus AbelLogan BullockNolan Foushee, and Justin Stearns followed in third place with a mark of 3:34.84.

- In the 800-meter race, Foushee (1:59.38) and Stearns (1:59.49) crossed the finish line in sixth and seventh, respectively.

- Luis Groff (1.90 meters), Golbach (1.85m), and Justin Borden (1.80m) ended up fifth through seventh, in that order, in the high jump, while in the triple jump, Rayne Jones-Foster posted a fourth-best effort of 13.74 meters, followed by Borden's sixth-place showing of 12.97 meters.

- In the shot put, Austin Campbell and LeAndre Bolen stacked up fourth and sixth, respectively, with tosses of 14.27 meters and 13.73 meters.

 

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on February 11 in Cincinnati, Ohio at the Mount St. Joseph Invitational.
